Practice Field FAQ's
What does the term FREE WEEK mean?
Free week is a list of specific dates (before the season starts) when the city allows your team to practice on a game field at NO COST. When you sign up for a Free Week slot, it is a ONE-time practice. There for you’ll need to get multiple slots (see instructions on specific link).
Both cities will rent you the fields for practices & scrimmages throughout the season for an additional cost, paid to the city. See page 2 for prices.
What does the term REGULAR PRACTICE mean?
The term regular practice means a practice location assigned to you though out the season at no cost. This is a re-occurring practice. When you sign up for one slot on the links (example: FB Park, Wednesdays @ 6pm), that will be your practice slot EVERY Wednesday at 6pm.
Both practice options will be on a separate Sign-Up Genius link.
How do I get a practice slot?
The very next morning after the coach’s meetings (8/27/2020) I will email ALL head coaches and team administrators a list of Sign Up Genius links broken down by city and practice type (regular or free week), a total of 3 links. We send the email the next day to give everyone a fair chance to get the slots they want. Once the email is sent out, please have a few top selections and back up selections. Poll your parents and know what days they prefer for practice days BEFORE the links go out. Once they are live selections will go fast.
The first time the links go out (8/28/2020) you will be limited on how many practice slots you can have for regular practice (reoccurring slots) and free week (one-time slots). This is to enable that all coaches have a chance of getting a slot. Once everyone has had an opportunity to select at least one slot, I will resend the links out to you again (8/30/2020) and you can take as many slots you like at that point. All links will disable at 8pm on Wednesday 9/2/2020. These are hard deadlines. As I need to provide the practice schedule to both cities to coordinate lights, field prepping etc.
So, knowing what you want in advance is key. It’s first come first serve and they go FAST! fast.

Mandatory coaches meeting:
Wednesday, August 27th, ALL ages & ALL divisions
At the meeting we will go over this process and answer any questions you have for practice fields.
Remember, we are ONE league (CFBBA) but play in TWO separate cities. Therefore, the parks we practice at are all different in having lights or not, back stop or not, all grass or a real baseball field, time and days of the week for availability.
Field Rental Info:
$250 per field / per day (FB residents)
$300 per field / per day (non-residents)
Field rentals are only available by the day, not the hour.

The City of Carrollton will start taking field reservations @ 6am, Wednesday, 9/9.
• It’s a hard start of 6:00am.
• If you submit a form prior to that, even if it’s 5:59am, it will be discarded, potentially without reply.
• All other questions should be covered in the FAQs below or when clicking the link to reserve a field.
How do I rent a field in The City Of Carrollton?

What field should I select for my age division’s practice?
Please select the appropriate field in the drop-down as first choice. To save time, in the comments, list other field options that could also work for your team. Please do NOT just select any or the first field that is marked “youth baseball” in the drop down. The city assumes that you know which field you need and will not be checking this for you.
These are your game fields when you play at McInnish, per division:
Example: 46/60 means that there is a 46’ distance from the mound to the plate and a 60’ baseline distance
Ages 5/6 Modified – 46/60 – Fields 12 & 15
Ages 7/8 Coach Pitch – 46/60 – Fields 12 & 15
Ages 9/10 Kid Pitch – 46/65 – Fields 13 & 14
Ages 9/10 Machine Pitch – 46/65 – Fields 13 & 14
Ages 11/12 – 50/70 – Fields 8 & 9
Ages 13/14 – 54/80 – Fields 6 & 7 (field 7 has a turf mound, no metal cleats please)
These are also some fields that might work, should you find that all normal game fields are booked:
Thomas 1 – 50/70 – Ages 11/12
Thomas 2 – 46/65 – Ages 9/10
Mac 10 – 60/90 – High school (but okay for 13/14 in a pinch)
Mac 11 – 60/90 – High school (but okay for 13/14 in a pinch)
Josey Ranch Softball fields 1-4, 46/60 (these have no mounds and are all dirt. They can work for modified and coach pitch teams, in a pinch)
How are field reservations prioritized?
Field Reservations are First Come, First Served, by timestamp of the submitted form.

What is the rate for CFBBA coaches, and how do I receive that special rate?
Field Fees: $20 per hour
Light Fees: $15 per hour
You must put CFBBA Coach in the comments, along with your team name and age division, so that the staff can cross-check with the list that CFBBA provided them. Failure to do this could slow down the process and shift your spot in line. The list provided to the city is the list that is posted on our contacts page, and those are the only names approved to rent fields.
How will I know that we have a field, and when do I need to pay?
Once your field is reserved, you’ll receive an invoice from RecTrak, along with the gate code(s) associated with your field rental. There are instructions in that email with regard to how to pay. If you haven’t received that email, you don’t have a field, or it might be in your spam/junk folder. You MUST pay for your rental within 48 hours of that receipt, or your fields will be released back into the pool of fields to be rented by others.
What is the expected turnaround time for reserving a field when I submit a form?
Fields reservations are considered during normal business hours, Monday through Thursday 8am – 4pm. While they will do their best to address requests as soon as they are sent, they ask for a 48 hour window. Any requests submitted Friday through Sunday will be addressed the following Monday.
What if it rains, do we get our money back?
If the City closes the fields, you are eligible for a credit to your account, or a refund; however, YOU are responsible for contacting the city within 7 days.
What if our team realizes that we can’t practice on a date? (maybe a rained-out game is scheduled over our practice)
You must contact the city within 48 hours to be eligible for a refund or account credit.
What if I need to reserve a field for more than one date, do I submit that many forms?
No, please don’t submit multiple forms. Simply enter the information for the first date on the form. In the comments, enter the additional dates. HOWEVER, if you are renting for multiple teams, please use one form per team.
